Show Review: Phoebe Bridgers at Marymoor Park
LA-based singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers recently brought her Reunion Tour to Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA.
After a phenomenal opening performance by Christian Lee Hutson, Bridgers and her skeleton-clad band emerged to Disturbed’s “Down With The Sickness,” taking the stage with her highly anticipated hit “Motion Sickness.” Moving swiftly through songs off of her second album, Punisher, Bridgers opened her song “Kyoto” by asking “Anyone here with their dad? Or are any solo dads here?” which was met by a huge cheer from the crowd.
As the sun continued to set, creating a picturesque backdrop of one of Washington’s best outdoor venues, Bridgers captivated her audience with a truly ethereal performance. She told a story not just through her songs, but through her backdrops, which changed to fit each song’s theme beautifully. Playing a range of songs such as “Smoke Signals” and “Funeral” from her debut album, Stranger in the Alps, to her latest single “Sidelines,” Bridgers had the crowd’s full attention.
Bridgers ended her set with “I Know the End,” encouraging the crowd to sing along with her to the iconic bridge because “it’s cathartic.” Met with the full might of a park packed with fans, Phoebe Bridgers truly left her mark on the Pacific Northwest singing “The end is here!”
Phoebe Bridgers is finishing up her Reunion Tour through the US before hitting a few festival dates internationally.
