Song Review: “Wrongside” by MisterWives
Indie-pop group MisterWives, composed of Mandy Lee (vocals), Etienne Bowler (drums), William Hehir (bass), Marc Campbell (guitar), and Mike Murphy (saxophone), have released their latest single “Wrongside,” encouraging listeners to break free from critical inner dialogue.
An overwhelmingly catchy track that embodies the group’s signature colorful vibe, “Wrongside” challenges their audience to fight against negative thought patterns and reinforces the importance of being kind to yourself. The track combines a groovy, upbeat instrumental with truly heart wrenching lyrics as Lee sings, “Tryin’ to tell myself I’m alright, Always running on the wrongside of my mind”. Speaking on what inspired the track, she confides that “I have spent a lot of my time on the wrong side of my mind- the one full of fear, doubts, insecurities, shame. I hope ‘Wrongside’ feels like a friend to anyone who struggles being kind to their mind."
Following the launch of their independent label, Resilient Little Records, MisterWives has hit the ground running. With a dual release (“Easy”/”Where Do We Go From Here?”) followed by their largest headline tour yet, “Wrongside” continues the group’s upward momentum as we head into the last few months of 2022.
Keep up with MisterWives!
