Song Review: “The End” by Cartel

After an almost 10-year hiatus, pop-punk band Cartel is making their comeback with their newest single, “The End.” Despite the grim-sounding title, the song positively speaks about finding someone to spend your days with. It’s about waiting and hoping to find the one you can love forever and the relief of finally finding them. There’s a lot of hope behind the lyrics, and the track anthemically radiates that positivity all around. Despite being gone from the music scene for so long, Cartel is able to continue putting out new music that feels fresh and authentic to the band’s original sound. The band hasn’t lost their touch, and I’m excited to see what else they are planning in the coming months. While they’ve been pretty quiet on social media, they are playing a few shows with Dashboard Confessional on their Emo’s Not Dead Cruise in November and have been playing a few solo shows in various U.S cities. You can keep up with Cartel on their Instagram.
