Song Review: “Cadillac” by Sun Room

It’s time to head back out to the surf as San Diego’s own, Sun Room, released their newest single off their upcoming EP, Outta Their Minds. While spilling out their empty pockets and relishing in having nothing more to offer than the next person, the single entitled“Cadillac” gives you the boost to let loose and be free. With its reminiscent stylistics of The Kinks and The Hives, Sun Room bring in the raspy edge of the 60’s into the 2020’s. Their carefree sound has been shown all throughout their discography and doesn’t dare try to shy away on Cadillac.” The garage rock sound that the track brings alongside its lyrics, gives the band its authenticity.

Sun Room has luckily traveled the world being the support act for huge names like One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson while still staying true to their California roots. “Well girl, I don’t have what he has/No Cadillac/No lavish plans/But I don’t need anything when you’re with me.” You can travel the world and still not have a dime to your name when it comes down to the one thing you want. Luke Asgian (lead singer), creates that feeling with not only the lyrics, but in the raspy voice he portrays whensinging. Their DIY/garage/surfer rock translates seamlessly into live performance on stage. Bringing in the energy from decades ago, Sun Room is just beginning their already successful career. This single will always remind you that anything you ever want will cost nothing; since the better things in life are those that don’t have a price.
