Premiere: “Wear Me Out” by Long Gone

“Wear Me Out” is the newest single out today from Chicago-based pop rock band Long Gone! This track encapsulates all the classic, key elements of 2000s pop punk and is sure to get stuck in your head for days. The opening verse starts out a bit slower and more melancholy before building to the burst of energy that is the main chorus, where the drums kick in and guitar is in full-force. Lyrically, this song is sure to resonate with a lot of people. It details the struggle and pain of always putting in the effort to be there for someone you care about, but that same effort is never reciprocated. “Said you’d give me everything I need, just to cut me down and watch me bleed” is a line from the beginning of the track, conveying that this person is making all these empty promises to show up and be there, but never follows through. By the time you reach the bridge at minute 2:00, you can tell that this is definitely one of those songs made for shouting the lyrics in the car with the volume way up. This is a sad summer anthem that you won’t want to overlook, so I’d highly recommend giving it a listen!
