2022 is looking to be a big year for the Arizona band Troubled Minds. They have released their newest single “Get Well Soon,” and it’s sure to be an attention-grabber. This single is a high-energy release that is a perfect song to play and hear live, especially considering Troubled Minds just recently announced some U.S. tour dates for this summer. The new single is reminiscent of the pop-punk sound that was popular in the 2000s. The layers of guitars combined with the signature “pop-punk” inflection in the vocalist’s voice give the song a nostalgic overtone. The single is both familiar and unique at the same time, making it a must-listen for new fans. It’s a perfect compliment to their other recently released single “like I used to be”, which also draws heavily from 2000s pop punk influences. Lyrically, the song is about watching someone struggle and hoping that they will be able to help themselves out of a dark place. “Through all of this, I know you can” is the push of encouragement to try and treat oneself better. “Take a look inside your head, see your body’s hospital bed” is a powerful lyric, intended to show that if there’s no change, this person may end up hospitalized or even dead. Despite the universal hard time that many people have gone through over the past two years, there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel, and this song feels like the hand guiding us in that direction. With a fast paced pop-punk anthem, Troubled Minds is sure to grab people’s attention this summer. Their show dates in the southwestern states start May 30, so be sure to catch them at a show if you can.
