Sydney Rose and Leanna Firestone (with show review)

MADAME LOU’S - SEATTLE, WA

Singer-songwriter Sydney Rose is on the road with Leanna Firestone and Addison Grace, taking a stop at Madame Lou’s in Seattle, Washington. The 18-year old pulled at the audience’s heartstrings with a sound and aura that was not unlike a young Phoebe Bridgers.

Rose started out her set with “Phoebe Told Me,” a song preluded by her admiration for Phoebe Bridgers and the influence that Bridgers has on her music, before introducing her latest single, “Bedroom Floor.” Rose explained that the song was about having recently graduated from high school, and dealing with going different directions from friends you have known for a long time. “I chose not to go to college,” she stated with a grin before starting the song, met with an uproar of cheers from the audience. With Rose masterfully accompanying herself on guitar and keys, she created an intimate, moving performance. Moving into a cover of Phoebe Bridgers’ cover of “The Gold” before closing out her set with “idk what i did,” Rose captivated the audience with her heartfelt lyrics and beautiful accompaniment. “If you want to, sing along with me, and we’ll all be sad together,” she said to the audience.

Sydney Rose released her debut EP ‘You Never Met Me’ last month. She is finishing out supporting Addison Grace on ‘The Immaturing Tour’. With new music in the works, it is clear that Sydney Rose is a rising star to keep an eye on.
